Lets all say hello my new favorite live band to shoot, the hardcore/metalcore/post-hardcore/deathcore/djent/mathcore band Glass House!  Really though, I have no idea what to “catergorize” them as, because they are like 10 genres in one….

Notes:

No photo pit at a sold out show hardcore show?  No matter!  Live on the edge!

Really though, after the previous band played, I moved right up to the front as close to the stage as I could.  After that, I made friends with a few of the dudes around me, who made sure to more or less protect me while I was shooting (by this I mean if a crowd surfer was coming towards me, they would give me a tap on the back, or push aggressive moshers away from me.)

Glass Cloud has some GREAT stage presence, and are really fun to shoot.  One huge positive of the small venue with no pit – shooting for the entire set!  There are some great shots I would not have been able to get without that full duration, and this is the kind of band with so much energy, you want to be able to shoot them as long as you possibly can.

Hilariously, vocalist Jerry Roush said since it was the first show of the tour, he was a bit out of shape.  I can’t wait to see what the dude does while he’s IN shape!  They have a new EP out, entitled Perfect War Forever which is pretty awesome, I highly suggest checking it out.
