General Photography – Rebecca Fall Photoshoot

 (Chris Romano)

Fall.  Leaves.  Girl.  All these things combined made up this recent fall photoshoot I had…

Notes on fall photoshoot:

Leaves, leaves, and more leaves.

After most people I showed it to hated my Halloween shoot, I decided I wanted to do something more stripped down.

For this, I kept things far more simple, using only one light (a folding octabox with a speedlight) and in some spots, I just used only natural light.  The reason why I used a light in some shots at all, was for the “leaf toss” shots, we were in a heavily shaded spot, and the sun was hidden deep behind grey clouds in the sky.  I wanted to add just a tiny bit of punch and sharpness to things, and my Westcott Octabox did the trick.

It was a fun time with Rebecca, and I think this shoot helped me really step back and stop trying to overdo everything when I’m on a limited time budget.

Also, for that last shot, the one with the weird brown “filter” over it, is actually a leaf that manged to pass in front of the lens RIGHT as I took a shot.  Timing, yo!
